OHKF Meets FSTB to Discuss 2026/27 Budget Recommendations

20 Jan 2026 (Tue)

On 20 January 2026, Vice President of OHKF and Executive Director of PPI Kenny Shui, Head of Green and Sustainability Pascal Siu, and Research Manager Katie Ho met with representatives from Financial Services and the Treasury Bureau (FSTB), including Secretary for Financial Services & the Treasury Christopher Hui, Permanent Secretary Andrew Lai, and Principal Assistant Secretary Salina Mak.

The discussion focused on Hong Kong’s fiscal position and our recommendations for the 2026/27 Budget. Both sides highlighted the need for revenue and expenditure measures should minimize the impact on the underprivileged, especially given current economic conditions. Both parties also stressed the importance of diversifying revenue sources through the strategic development of new industries and markets.
