2025 Policy Address is releasing on 17 September. Katie Ho, Researcher of Our Hong Kong Foundation, emphasised that the Government must not slow its efforts in food waste reduction and recycling. Regarding food waste recycling in both private and public housing, she identified two key development directions: first, to encourage the Government to introduce more on-site food waste processing equipment to enhance localised treatment capabilities; and second, for sewage treatment works should increase the food waste recycling rates to optimise resource recovery efficiency.
