Our Hong Kong Foundation held a new event in the “Our Hong Kong Stories” series on 26 July. The keynote speaker, Dr Jim Thompson, Chairman and Founder of the Crown Worldwide Group of Companies, Chairman of the Asian Youth Orchestra, and Honorary President of the Society for the Promotion of Hospice Care, shared his long experience in Hong Kong, the various challenges the city had faced in the past, while moving forward with determination. 

Dr Jim Thompson pointed out that Hong Kong had experienced of very close encounters with the Asian financial crisis in 1997 and SARS outbreak in 2003, which had a significant impact on the people of Hong Kong that young people might not have experienced, but these major crisis were of great significance to Hong Kong, and in the end, we were able to join hands with all sectors of the community and turn the crisis into an opportunity. Therefore, even though Hong Kong has faced significant challenges in the past few years, it is now the best time to sustain its steady recovery.
