Dr. SUN Wenbin

Dr. Sun Wenbin helped establish the Hong Kong Chronicles Institute in July 2019, and is currently Director of the Editorial Department of HKCI. 

After got a B.A. degree at People’s University of China, she furthered her study at University of Bristol and obtained M.Phil and PhD degrees.  Dr. Sun worked at the University of Hong Kong during the period 1995-2005.  Her major research areas included political and social development in the Mainland since the 1980s, entrepreneurship, the relationships between Hong Kong and Southeast Asia as well as Hong Kong and India.  She then joined the SAR Government, worked as Principle Researcher at the Central Policy Unit, conducting policy research and providing policy suggestions on social and economic integration between Hong Kong and the Mainland, various issues on governance, and social policy in Hong Kong.

She serves as member of the Council of Chinese Association of Hong Kong & Macau Studies.
