    Education & Youth

    As Nelson Mandela says, “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world. The power of education extends beyond the development of skills we need for economic success. It can contribute to nation-building and reconciliation.” The global economic transformation and data boom we experienced as of late exemplifies education being the most critical investment we, as a society, can make. The ability of an education system to develop versatile and globally-competitive talents is vital for the society to flourish.

    The education system in Hong Kong has been evolving over the past few decades to position itself for future challenges, with past reforms including language policy, “334” education reform, broadening of free education as well as sub-degree system. However, this continuous evolution cannot be brought to a halt as the challenge to future talents will only become more intense. OHKF Education & Youth Research Team reviews the current education system and plans for the future, hoping that enhancements could be made to move the system one step closer to achieving our vision:

    1. To cultivate top-notch talents capable of solving unprecedented problems and contributing to the future of Hong Kong, China and the rest of the world;

    2. To create a level playing field for students with diverse aptitudes and interests to excel, and to allow them to attain their full potential

    3. To provide moral education necessary for character building and social improvement.
