Ryan Ip: Developing a Low-Altitude Airspace Management System to Promote Low-Altitude Economic Growth
Our Hong Kong Foundation (OHKF) launched a policy advocacy report titled "Taking Flight — Forging a Future for Hong Kong’s Low-Altitude Economy" on 4 Sep.
Ryan Ip, Vice President of OHKF and Executive Director of Public Policy Institute, pointed out that safety is the primary consideration for the development of Hong Kong's low-altitude economy, and there is currently a lack of an airspace management system for airspace below 1,000 meters.
He stated that Hong Kong should develop a low-altitude airspace management system to ensure the safety of low-altitude flights. Additionally, the low-altitude airspace management system should include three functions: risk assessment, approval, and airspace control.
