Joyce Chan, Researcher of Our Hong Kong Foundation (OHKF), stated that a mega sports event requires support from different types of professionals across the planning, execution, and follow-up stages.

She mentioned that to expand Hong Kong’s talent pool, more efforts should nurture more local talents. There are currently two major potential sources of talent, particularly local university students studying relevant programmes who have a solid knowledge base, as well as retired athletes who bring extensive practical experience from major international competitions. By effectively nurturing these two groups, she believes they can provide comprehensive professional support for major sports events.
