Ms Bally Lam, Founder and Chairperson of ABC Pathways Group and the ABC Education Foundation, is an influential entrepreneur and social leader in Hong Kong’s education and parent–child sectors. In her four roles as an entrepreneur, philanthropist, public speaker and public affairs advocate, she has championed educational innovation for over two decades. She has built bridges of communication among the government, academia, families and young people, making significant contributions to long-term social stability and the healthy development of the younger generation, with a far reaching impact.
Bally founded ABC Pathways Group in 2002. As a pioneer in the industry, she introduced the teaching philosophy of “Stress Free, High Effectiveness” and established a comprehensive teaching framework that nurtures children’s self confidence and strong moral character through positive learning environments. The Group currently operates 19 schools and international kindergartens across Hong Kong and has extended its operations to Bangkok, Thailand. Its team comprises experienced international education professionals and has earned widespread recognition and trust from parents throughout Hong Kong over the years. A veteran speaker with more than 25 years of experience, Bally has delivered over 300 keynote lectures on positive education and corporate management, promoting the principles of positive parenting and holistic education.
In the field of charity and public welfare, Bally founded the ABC Education Foundation and spearheaded the establishment of the Hong Kong Inter-School Civic Education Officer Academy. This created a cross sector platform for civic education in schools, helping to cultivate a new generation with a strong sense of responsibility and positive values. She is also a founding member of the EmpowerHer Network under the Hong Kong Red Cross. She has long supported grassroots families and underprivileged children through poverty-alleviation and student-sponsorship programmes, guided by her firm belief that education empowers individuals and changes lives.
In the areas of youth development and crime prevention education, she has forged in depth partnerships with the Hong Kong Police Force to promote anti drug campaigns, crime awareness, character development and national education initiatives. She has been appointed a Member of the Kowloon City District Fight Crime Committee and Chairperson of the Leadership Institute on Narcotics (L.I.O.N.) under the Narcotics Bureau of the Hong Kong Police Force. To strengthen collaboration between schools and the Police, she launched a dedicated communication platform titled “United Hearts of Schools and Police, Alliance Rooted in Children”. Through this platform, campus outreach activities are continually organised to raise awareness of anti-drug education and cybercrime prevention.
In terms of public service, Bally serves as a Member of the Kowloon City District Fight Crime Committee and a National Security Education District Tutor. She also serves as a Director of the Hong Kong Chiu Chow Chamber of Commerce and Honorary Advisor to the Hong Kong Chiu Chow Chamber of Commerce Women Committee, actively participating in community governance and hometown association affairs.
Her extensive portfolio of public appointments and community service attests to her widely recognised credibility and leadership in educational advancement, youth mentorship and social welfare.
