Ms Grace YU Ho-wun

BANKING ON THE NEXT GENERATION: FROM FINANCE TO PHILANTHROPY

Ms Grace YU Ho-wun, MH, is the Managing Director of the Royal Bank of Canada. An accomplished financial executive with over 20 years of experience, Ms Yu has demonstrated leadership in finance, business, management, and entrepreneurship, and has held senior roles at several international banks.

AN ADVOCATE FOR YOUNG PEOPLE

In addition to her professional achievements, Ms Yu is dedicated to children and youth affairs. She serves as a Member, Youth Development Commission; Member, Commission on Children; Council Member, City University of Hong Kong; and Council Member, The Hong Kong Award for Young People. She also served as Board Member and Chairman of Branding, Fundraising & Resources Development Committee, The Boys’ and Girls’ Club Association of Hong Kong. Through her endeavors, Ms Yu aspires to shape a brighter future for tomorrow’s leaders. She firmly believes in broadening young people’s horizons and providing them with the opportunities to learn and grow, to choose their own directions in life no matter their current circumstances.

A PASSION FOR EDUCATION

Ms Yu is also committed to inspiring the next generation through knowledge dissemination, and she has been involved in several publications. In 2020, she served as a co-author with historians to publish U Tat Chee: The Ginger King in Post-War Hong Kong about her late grandfather, U Tat Chee, OBE JP. In 2023, she partnered with CityUHK Press as the Chief Strategist of the editorial committee of “CityU Mastermind Series”, highlighting outstanding business leaders and their spirit of hard work and perseverance. The following year, “CityU TechVenture Series” featuring three books—Startup 101; Innovative Attitude: 6+ Trailblazing Startup Founders; and Cultivating Change in Our Community: 300+ Tech Startups—designed to guide aspiring young entrepreneurs to transform their dreams into reality.

Ms Yu also provides guidance to educational bodies, including Yau Yat Chuen School (Board Member) and Hong Kong Baptist University (Court Member).

In addition, Ms Yu serves in numerous other government committees, professional and community organizations. She is a Member, Process Review Panel for Mandatory Provident Fund Intermediaries; Member, Sham Shui Po District Fight Crime Committee; Chairman, Sham Shui Po District Youth Development Network and Family Harmony Awareness; Observer, Independent Police Complaints Council; and Honorary President, All-China Women’s Federation of Hong Kong Delegates Association. She also served as a Member, Commission on Poverty; Member, Community Care Fund Task Force; Panel Member, Disciplinary Panel of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants; Member, Advisory Committee of the Partnership Fund for the Disadvantaged; Member, Social Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Fund Task Force; Founding Vice-Chairman, Ladies Recreation Club Charitable Foundation; and Executive Member and Convenor, Shenzhen Women Federation.

Ms Yu has been recognized for her contributions with the Outstanding Businesswomen Award (2017); Greater China Outstanding Young Entrepreneur Award (2019); Most Successful Woman Award (2019); Golden Bauhinia Women Entrepreneur Award (2020); Greater China Outstanding Entrepreneur Award (2021); and Greater Bay Area Outstanding Women Entrepreneur Award (2022).
