The Leshan Giant Buddha has a history of 1,300 years. It’s the biggest stone Buddha statue in the world. This is saying that “The mountain is a Buddha. The Buddha is a mountain”. During an extraordinarily big flood in recent years, the Buddha’s toes were covered in water. But it didn’t cause major destruction to the Buddha. That’s because the drainage system which has been used for a thousand years is still working well.
