【The 2025-26 Budget - Forecasts】Flexible Land and Housing Policies Create a Triple-Win
The 2025-26 Budget is scheduled for release on 26 February. Jason Leung, Head of Land & Housing of Our Hong Kong Foundation, believes that in the face of worsening fiscal deficits, the Government should consider reintroduce the Tenant Purchase, hereby raising treasury revenue.
Additionally, he suggests that the Government could allow developers to pay land premium in instalments, broaden financing sources for infrastructure, and improve financing cooperation to deliver local projects.
