Field trip to New Territories Brownfields

Head of Public Policy Institute Stephen Wong and Head of Land and Housing Research Ryan Ip led a team survey of New Territories industrial and brownfield sites in Tuen Mun Southwest, Lung Kwu Tan, Hung Shui Kiu, Lam Tei, Ping Shan, Yuen Long South, Shap Pat Heung and Sha Po on 8 April, 2020.

Of particular focus were the 8 brownfield sites earmarked for 20,000 public housing units by the Development Bureau.

The survey of the sites’ land conditions, existing usage and local road networks provides valuable insight into potential development and redevelopment opportunities.
